Professor

Dr. Knafo is a full-time professor at LIU-Post in Brookville, NY. She has also taught at Adelphi University, Bar-Ilan University, Tel-Aviv University’s Multidisciplinary Program for the Arts and The School for Psychotherapy in Sackler School of Medicine, Eugene Lang College at the New School for Social Research, Parson’s School of Design, Brooklyn College, and City College of NY.

At LIU-Post, she currently teaches in the clinical psychology doctoral program, where she chairs a concentration on serious mental illness.

About Teaching Freud

In addition to training doctoral students to work therapeutically with those suffering serious mental illness (SMI), she teaches courses in Advanced Psychopathology, Clinical Interviewing, and Cultural Issues in Psychology.

Professor Knafo also chairs dissertations and supervises students in their clinical work.

She is additionally on the faculty at NYU’s Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, where she has taught a course on The Evolution of Freud’s Thought and Working (and Playing) with the Unconscious. She supervises NYU candidates on their analytic work. She also teaches a course on Perversion at Adelphi’s Programs in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.
